Screen Sharing Using Desktop Apps – Windows and Mac

Screen Sharing Using Desktop Apps – Windows and Mac Laptop

Zoapi offers multiple ways to share your screen. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to share your screen from a Windows or macOS laptop using the Zoapi desktop client.

Zoapi wireless presentations work over your local network by default, ensuring that no media content is sent to the cloud. If the IT admin enables the “Connect from Any Network” feature, users can also share content from external networks.

Frequently Asked Questions #

    1. Can I share my screen without installing the Zoapi Client?
Yes, you can share your screen directly from a web browser using the browser sharing feature. Simply visit https://share.zoapi.com.
    2. Do I need an internet connection to use Zoapi for screen sharing?
Yes, Zoapi uses cloud-based device discovery. If internet is not available, you can use the Zoapi Web Application on any of the browser by entering the IP address of the Zoapi Hub.
    3. I’m connected to a VPN. Can I still share my screen?
VPNs typically block local network access, which Zoapi requires for screen sharing. If your VPN supports split tunneling, you may still be able to connect.
For a seamless experience, it’s recommended to disable the VPN or ask your IT admin to enable Connect from Any Network on the Zoapi Hub.
    4. How do I share my laptop’s audio with the Zoapi Hub?
Zoapi Client App automatically shares audio while sharing the screen. You can optionally disable audio sharing by toggling the audio button.
    5. I’m Sharing My Audio, but It’s Not Audible on the Zoapi Display
This issue may occur on some Windows laptops. Zoapi automatically mutes local audio on your laptop to prevent multiple audio playbacks. However, some audio drivers disable audio capture when the sound is muted locally. To resolve this Unmute the audio on your laptop.
    6. How to change volume on Zoapi Hub
In the Zoapi Client app, you can see a volume bar on the bottom right which controls the volume of Zoapi Hub
    7. What is Connect from Any Network in Zoapi?
Zoapi supports sharing over the cloud to bypass network limitations (e.g., different networks or VPN restrictions). This feature is disabled by default—contact your IT team to enable it if needed.
